CHEESE!!! A family-run farmstead in Petaluma, Achadinha Cheese Company, pronounced Osh-a-deen-a (you’re welcome), is led by Jim and Donna Pacheco, along with their four children. Their 230-acre ranch is home to a herd of goats and cows that graze on pastures and are supplemented with alfalfa and brewer’s grain from local breweries, resulting in cheeses that change with the seasons. Achadinha’s offerings include award-winning cheeses like the aged Capricious, a goat-and-cow milk blend; Greek-style feta; fresh curds; and the versatile Broncha, a Portuguese table cheese. They are also known for their probiotic yogurt and butter that has a cult following! Achadinha is dedicated to sustainable farming practices and all cheeses are made without preservatives.
