Canyon Market News: It's Autumn at the Market!

All our Latest Market Updates and Happenings

Every season at the farmers market is special, but autumn might be the most magical. Here in Southern California, fall brings the best of both worlds—sunny skies and late-summer bounty alongside crisp new harvests like persimmons, pomegranates, apples, squash, and leafy greens. Our long growing season is a gift, and so are those cooler canyon mornings (perfect for showing off your autumnal canyon market fits!). It’s supposed to be 71 degrees on Friday - could not be more perfect! See you at the market!

The market only thrives with your support. Every purchase from our farmers and food makers keeps this community event alive and growing. Invite a friend, spread the love, and join us every Friday!

Cuyama Orchards Brings Organic Apples Back for Fall

🍎✨ They’re back! Cuyama Orchards—growers of some of California’s finest organic heirloom apples—are returning to the market just in time for crisp fall days. Let’s show them the trip to our canyon is worth it by picking up apples every Friday. Unlike most apples you’ll find elsewhere (even many labeled organic), Cuyama’s are never coated in toxic wax—just pure, clean, and delicious. They also sell raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar that has a cult following. Come say hello to Frank and stock up this Friday! 🌿

New Vendor: Achadinha Cheese Co.

CHEESE!!! 🧀 Family-run Achadinha Cheese Company (pronounced Osh-a-deen-a—you’re welcome) makes award-winning farmstead cheeses on their 230-acre Petaluma ranch. Their herd of goats and cows graze lush pastures, producing seasonal favorites like aged Capricious, Greek-style feta, fresh curds, and the beloved Broncha. They also craft probiotic yogurt and butter—all made sustainably and without preservatives.

Locals Needed to Deliver Produce Boxes to Canyon Seniors

Help us bring fresh produce to Topanga seniors 💚
We’ve got volunteers to pack the boxes—now we just need a few locals to deliver them! Simply pick up a box (or two) after shopping and drop it to a nearby senior on your way home. If you know Topanga’s winding neighborhoods, we’d love your support!

🚗 Pick up: between 9:30–1

Kids Music at the Market with Brafo: Fall Dates

We’d love to offer music every Friday, but to make that possible, we need more families to help contribute $15 per class. Here's the link to send your donation via Venmo. 100% of the contributions go directly to our amazing music educator, Brafo!

Thanks to all the families that contribute every week! Together we can keep the music going under the oak tree this fall!

Supporting Our Local Non-Profits: California Wildlife Center

The California Wildlife Center (CWC) rescues, rehabilitates, and releases wild animals in the greater LA area who might otherwise suffer from human encroachment, habitat loss, and environmental damage.

This Friday is the last market to bring your donations for CWC - we’re collecting pillowcases, flat sheets, empty toilet paper rolls and empty tissue boxes for CWC’s rehab center in Monte Nido. Lightly used pillowcases and sheets provide soft, reusable bedding that lines enclosures, offers comfort during healing, and supports dozens of injured and orphaned wildlife patients over time.

The cardboard toilet paper tubes and tissue boxes are used as enrichment items—often filled with food to help teach juvenile patients how to forage, practice natural behaviors, and prepare for life back in the wild.

📞 If you find an animal in need of emergency care, call the CWC hotline at 310-458-WILD (9453). Interested in volunteering? Click here to get involved!
