🌎 🌿 EARTH DAY CELEBRATION - THIS FRIDAY!!

Support Local Canyon Businesses

Shopping local is now more important than ever. With the ongoing road closure due to the landslide on Hwy 27, it's imperative that we come out in support of our local canyon small businesses. Make sure to follow the new Visit Topanga Instagram account to get updates on fun community events.

THIS WEEK!

🌎 🌿 Join us for a ROOTin' good time at our first ever Topanga Farmers Market Earth Day Celebration on April 19th, from 9 AM to 1 PM! 🎉

We need volunteers! Email us at [email protected] if you would like to help out at the Earth Day Celebration anytime between 7 am and 2 pm.

We've teamed up with some amazing sustainable businesses, non-profits and artisans to bring you a day filled with eco-friendly fun, sustainable shopping, and community spirit. Read on for full details about what's in store this Friday morning . . .

Check out our Earth Day Partners and Vendors:

🔌 ♻️ Homeboy Electronics: Bring your old gadgets and batteries to be responsibly recycled by Homeboy Electronics, supporting both the environment and their community outreach efforts. They’ll be accepting anything with a cord, cable, or battery (we know you all have been hoarding batteries and random e-waste just waiting for this moment!) Here’s a complete list of what they will collect if you want to double check. Contact us via email if you have large items so we can coordinate an easy drop off.

Bring your clothes to dip in TigerOwl’s indigo bath!

🦉 TigerOwl: Elevate your wardrobe with sustainable clothing options from TigerOwl and bring your faded and stained clothes for a refresh in the Indigo dye bath with TigerOwl friend KMOK Art. We will have bandanas available for purchase or bring your natural fiber piece to dye on site. (Cotton, linen, wool, etc)

🌱 Native Plant Sale with Greener Empowerment Foundation / Hannah Wear: Plant native plants to attract pollinators and restore our canyon’s natural habitat.

💧 The Well: Stock up at The Well, our local canyon refill station offering sustainable home and body alternatives to single-use plastics. They will be giving away free samples!

🌻 Superbloom: Local floral artist, Suzannah, will be selling Flower Crowns and Special Earth Day Floral Designs so you can channel your inner earth god or goddess.

💃🏻 Vintage Collections: Fernwood Vintage & Tavin: Discover timeless treasures in these two vintage collections - where every piece tells a story and contributes to sustainable fashion practices.

🎨 Earth Day-inspired Kids Craft with The Sycamore School

🐾 🌿 Come connect with Poison Free Topanga, Poison Free Malibu, Full Circle Compost and California Trout - organizations dedicated to preserving our planet for future generations.

Music at the Market!

Live music on the lower stage below the Artisan Market will start at 10 am. The CANYON LOCAL line-up includes: Tony Selvage, Will Worden & Ciara Sophia Rudas, James Houlahan, Heather Christie & Vir McCoy

Vendor Highlight:

Re_Grocery, Los Angeles

We are so grateful to have Re_Grocery at our Market! Stock up on dried and bulk pantry goods like popcorn, flour, spices, beans, oatmeal, lentils and much more from Re_Grocery, who offer a large range of organic, non-gmo products package-free. Bring your own containers, cloth bags, or use disposable paper bags they provide.

Special Earth Day Promotion: The first 20 customers will receive a free set of Re_Grocery organic produce bags!

We Aim to Be a Low-Waste Market

Please bring your reusable produce and tote bags. If you forget your bags, we have a “Take a Bag, Leave a Bag” box by the manager’s booth and will also be selling our “Topanga Farmers Market” totes, French market bags and produce bags. Vendors will not be supplying plastic bags, but some will have paper bags. Feel free to bring your extra paper grocery bags or tote bags you would like to donate to the “Take a Bag, Leave a Bag” box. This is a work in progress, please let us know if you have ideas on how our market can produce less waste!

We STILL need your support!

Our new market will only be as strong and amazing as the community that supports it. Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Share and Comment on our Instagram and Facebook posts: Help show our vendors that we have a vibrant, supportive, and excited community and spread the word to other potential customers.

  • Write a Yelp Review: If you share a Yelp review, show it to us at the Manager’s Booth and we’ll give you a coupon for a free tamale.

  • Spread the Word: Talk to your friends and neighbors who don’t use email or social media, and share the good news about the market.

  • Market Volunteers: Sign up to work at the market on Fridays. Click here to express interest in volunteering or email us.

  • Market Sponsors: We still have a lot of work to do – and we have big plans for the future. We would like to enhance the market with music and entertainment, children’s programs, nonprofit booths and special events like electronic recycling and workshops. We also need ongoing support for our regular operating costs. Check out our Market Sponsorship Program here.

  • Artists: Apply to sell your art and wares at the market. Apply here.
